Experience

2022-Current

Onenet
Fullstack Engineer & Founder

In 2019, my team and I began developing a video game that showed our love and passion for video game development. With little funding, we fought through the hardest times and have successfully hit our biggest milestone to date-- the permanent alpha release of Bushi. This was made possible because the core team is made up of industry professionals who posses the hard-skills needed to fill all roles.

I worked with the CTO in every aspect of the process to bring the vision together and make sure everything is functional within our infrastructure:

- Website (AngularJS for FrontEnd | AWS for Back End)

- Launcher (ElectronJS for FrontEnd | AWS for Back End)

- Bushi (UE5 for FrontEnd | AWS for Back End)

2016-2021

Venetian
Desk Side Analyst & Rover

To become a full-time IT technician for one of the best resorts in Las Vegas? I was elated. However, it would mean I had to juggle going full-time in both school and work. It was the most difficult thing I've done to date which even almost got me fired because I was always late to work since I didn't get enough sleep some days. It later became impossible to work around UNLV's unreasonable scheduling system--so I had no choice but to slow things down and go part-time in school.

Venetian was a plethora of experience for the IT industry. You will provide full technical support and hands on troubleshooting for large-scale technical hardware and software. It was always something different considering there were hundreds of departments to support in Venetian.

Education

2015-2021

University of Nevada, Las Vegas
BE, Computer Engineering

I changed my major to computer engineering (CPE) after serious consideration of my future career path. I've already learned Python and C# at this time because of my projects with Unity; and after looking at the curriculum, I figured I might as well continue learning how to use the Arduino and all the other electronics that came with the course. While it was difficult, I fully enjoyed this degree. It opened up possibilities for me to work with electronics because CPE came with electrical engineering on top of the computer science classes we had to take.

2014-2015

Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo
Video Game Design

I started my university experience in Cal Poly and took on Computer Science as a major. My most valuable classes taught game design which only further increased my passion on this subject. Later on in the year, I had found a better opportunity back home as a student worker. While it was short, Cal Poly gave me some of my most memorable experiences in life.

2010-2014

Southwest Career and Technical Academy, Las Vegas
Entertainment Engineering

My high school was a bit different as it offered majors for students just like they would for college. There was web design, game design, automotive, fashion, nursing, culinary and finally entertainment engineering. Throughout my 4 years I learned how to fabricate 3D models with AutoCAD, program Arduino projects using Python, follow the full engineering design process from start to finish, present our projects as practice for potential investors, and even build functional robots for FIRST competitions. It only fueled my desires of becoming an engineer. Thanks for everything, Mr.Pappano!
